(farrier, bodyworker, veterinarian, trainer) Navigating your own frustration while communicating your needs and the needs of your horse require skill in managing these types of conversations. Attendees will learn skills that can help make these interactions more rewarding and ultimately get the service or care your horse needs and build your horse health care team.
”Get Vigorous with Vitals” with Dr. Kelsey ShackerKnowing the normal parameters of equine vital signs; temperature, pulse, respiration, gut sounds, and mucous membrane color can help horse owners understand and recognize what is normal for their horse and when things are abnormal. “Roll, Release, Ride” with Desiree Sieben
This interactive exercise session explores connective tissue in the equestrian’s body and how compensation patterns, overuse, and injuries can impact our riding. This class combines various modalities, including rolling with small roller balls (about the size of tennis balls), yoga, and breath work. Stretching & Activations with Tina Watkins
This two part series will begin on Day One talking through physiological changes that you can make with your horse when doing stretches and activations. We will dive deeper into the changes that are made within the horses body that will allow attendees to understand what to watch for when doing exercises with their own horses.
Day Two will be hands-on learning. Attendees will get the opportunity to go through several stretches and activations that are safe and effective for any horse. During this session we will watch for body mechanics, ensuring that exercises are being done correctly and that attendees will feel confident to utilize these stretches and activations at home; creating a solid home care protocol to optimize their horses wellness.
“One Horsewoman’s Opinion About Bits, Hackamores and Anything Else You Might Attach Your Reins To” with Jody Busch
